About The Artist

Leilany Benitez (she/they) is a pictorial artist from the Bay Area. After graduating from De Anza College with an Associate's in Graphic Design, they began working as a T.A. at a preschool. They fell in love with teaching and sharing the joy of art-making with the next generation. Leilany attended San Jose State University, graduating with a Bachelor's in Studio Art, Preparation for Teaching. Leilany is currently working towards their Master's.

Leilany's works use bright colors to display a range of narratives, and they draw from their own experiences. Much of their work revolves around relationships and their impact on our being. From relationships with ourselves, with others, and with the world around us. How have our lives been shaped by the people and environment we surround ourselves with? Leilany's art explores this question.

In their free time, Leilany enjoys gardening with their dad, cuddling with their cat, Domino, and baking.
